Freedom Soccer Referees 2018

Welcome to Freedom Rec Soccer Referee Soccer Registration

For Youth Referees you must play soccer for Freedom Optimist Soccer, FSC, or Liberty, Century or South Carroll High School.

Adult Referees must have previously refereed for FO Soccer Program.

When you register click on the player tab.

If you are a first or second year referee Clinic date is:


Sunday August 26th from 1 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 7:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs.


If you are a third or more year referee then you must attend 1 clinic on Sunday August 19th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs. You must attend a session to referee.

If you are a 3rd year or more and wish to referee at Eldersburg and not Freedom Park then you need to attend the 1st & 2nd year referee clinics.

If for some reason you cannot attend the required sessions you must contact Sue Chaney at fosreferees@gmail.com. If you do not attend required sessions and do not have a waiver from the referee coordinator you will not be allowed to referee.

There is no fee to register. Registration will be open till August 11th for 1st & 2nd year referees and August 18th for 3rd year and beyond referees.

If you are a third year and beyond who would be interested in helping with training or be a lead referee at Eldersburg or Freedom Park please let me know.

If you are over 18 and are volunteering to help you will need to complete the Carroll County Background check. Instructions can be obtained at our website www.freedomoptsoccer.com

Fees are: $95.00/player
$10.00 sibling discount for each additional child in the family registered in our program.
Early Bird Discount –$5.00 off - must be paid by Credit Card – any registrations not paid by April 30 will have $5.00 fee added to registration cost. Registrations from May 1 – May 31 will be as above – Registrations after June 1st will include a $15.00 late fee, registrations from starting July1st will include a $25.00 (unless you have tried out for an FSC travel team or high school team and did not make the team). Registration is not considered complete and your child will not be placed on a team until payment is received.

If you are volunteering in our program you must register as a volunteer - Make sure you register - after you register your child. If you are a volunteer Coach or Assistant Coach you must also complete the Carroll County Background check–www.fdosoccer.com and follow the instructions on the front page.

You should receive a call or email from your child's coach during the last week of July, except for the Clinic Age 3 & Clinic Age 4 teams (These divisions do not practice in August)

Refund Policy: 100% thru July 15 less $20.00 administrative fee, No refunds after July 15

Team sizes and age grouping will depend on the number of participants. Any sessions cancelled by circumstances beyond our control are non-refundable.


Multiple Media Intensive For ages 11 -17

For ages 11 -17. Students will learn to illustrate in a variety of mediums to include drawing and painting. Projects will be completed along with intense technique study for those who want to work hard on improving their skills. This program is intended for students in middle and high school.

Learn to Draw /Paint Realistic Animals & Wildlife Fall 2018

For ages 6 – 10. This class will teach your child the skills needed to draw and paint realistic animals with fun step by step instruction. Students will be creating a new animal picture every week. Techniques include learning to how draw what they see using perspective, measuring, and light and shadow. Completion of finished projects will include mediums such as pencil, colored pencils and acrylic paint.

Workshop: Painting Step by Step, for ages 11-adult Fall 2018

For ages 11 – adult. 3 classes. Paint your home and paint your pet on canvas, then paint your favorite quote on a pallet (for you or as a holiday gift). Students will create 2- 12” x 16” paintings with acrylic paint. Pets and houses will be pre-sketched. Quotes will be transferred on to a 10” x 17” pallet during class. Play on Theatre Fall 2018

Registration is closed

For ages 10 and up This class will provide the foundations for a fun and exciting theatre presentation. Students will learn proper theatre etiquette and technique while studying and rehearsing for a small production at the end of the session. They will be taught how to work together as an ensemble, develop and sustain a character, and assist in designing and selecting costumes. This class will stretch students and delight even those who are a bit shy. Roles will be assigned after the first class.

Realistic Oil Painting For adults and ages 15 and up.

For adults and ages 13 and up. Beginner to Advanced All levels welcome! Beginners, learn the basics of oil painting (how to start a painting, techniques, composition, measuring, values, and working from photos.) Intermediate painters, review color mixing, value studies, techniques, composition and choosing subject matter. Advanced painters, receive individualized instruction based on ability. SCAA Men's Softball Fall 2018

Freedom Area Basketball - 2018/19

The mission of the Freedom Area Basketball League (FABL) is to provide instruction and recreation in the game of basketball. In addition to skills development, sportsmanship and the enjoyment of participation will be emphasized. We offer an Intramural program, as well as select Travel Teams for more competitive play. We welcome all grades K-12.

Travel Players:
All travel teams are not yet determined, and tryouts will be held in September. All Travel Players must register through the REC program.
Once Travel Teams are selected, those players will be moved to their grade associated travel team.

Online registration will be open from August 1 through September 30, 2018.

JDCRO Orchestra Practice 2017-18

JoeyDCares Rock Orchestra, a non-profit community music group of students and adult volunteers, performs Rock, Pop, Motown, Jazz & Classical to support charitable events throughout the year. Students improve their music skills while earning service hours serving their community through music, building leadership skills, and having fun jamming with other musicians.

Who: Student musicians in grades 6-12. Also, members of the community of any age who want to join by helping or playing an instrument are welcome!

Cost: $99 per 4 month session- See Sessions below - you must register for each session separately.

Freedom Coed Slow Pitch Over 16 Softball Fall 2018

We will be registering differently this season. Team Manager will register through the system in the manager division - All managers must register as a Manager and a player. Players will register in the player division
Registration is by Team Only - if you have a team please email fdosoftball@gmail.com for Participation Code and send Team Info.

Cost is $440.00 per team - fee includes all league and umpire fees. Uniforms are not included - if you wish to order uniforms you can contact Bob at bob@uniformateam.com or find a vendor of your choice.

Registrations are not considered complete until payment has been received.

Double header format – 2 -55 minute games – player starts with 1-1 count then 1 foul ball – 7 inning games. ***

FIRST LEGO League is open to students who are 8-14 years old by January 1, 2019. Teams are formed in the community as coaches (2 or more per team) volunteer and determine meeting times and location BEFORE signing up members. Teams are limited to ten students, who research a real-world challenge, then innovate and develop their own solution through designing, building, and coding LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robots to perform autonomous “missions” on a playing field.

If you do not yet have a team assignment, email signup.pie3@gmail.com to inquire about possible team openings or about coaching a new team. Coach training is available; no experience is required.

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is open to students who are 11-18 years old by January 1, 2019. FTC teams of up to 15 students explore the possibilities of STEM through designing, building, programming, and operating robots to play a competition challenge in an alliance format. They practice engineering principles while realizing the value of teamwork, innovation, and sharing ideas, and participants are eligible to apply for $80M+ in college scholarships

Teams are formed in the community as coaches (2 or more per team) volunteer and determine meeting times and location BEFORE signing up members. FTC Team 4991 will compete in 2019, and a new team may form depending on interest.

FRC Robotics (High School, sponsored by PIE3)2018/19

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team in Carroll County is FRC Team 2199 the Robo-Lions. Now in their 13th year, the team is open to any high school student with an interest in robotics, programming, marketing, public relations, social media, creative problem-solving, engineering, design and many other areas. This team is active year-round, with the main season January-April. Training and team building begins in the fall. No experience is necessary.

SIGNUP FOR THIS TEAM IS RECOMMENDED AFTER VISITING WITH THE TEAM AT LEAST ONCE. You will then be provided with a code needed to complete signup. Meeting location is 2025 Suffolk Road, Suite 1A, Finksburg, MD. Contact the team at 2199robolions@gmail.com for the date and time of the next meeting.

Hall Rental - Freedom Optimist Building 2018

In order to rent the the Freedom Hall please email optimisthall@gmail.com and you will receive a participation code so that you can register and pay.

Fees are:
Upstairs (Capacity - 60): $50.00/hour plus $175.00

Downstairs (Capacity - 225):

With this registration I agree that I will abide by all rules, regulations and terms set forth below for the Rental of the Freedom Optimist Hall (upstairs & downstairs) for the date and times listed on my registration.
IMPORTANT: You must email (optimisthall@gmail.com) a copy of a Certificate of Insurance for General Liability in the amount of $500,000 naming the Optimist Club of Freedom District as “additionally insured” which can be secured from either a business or homeowner’s insurance provider once registration is complete. If this form is not received within 20 days of registration – this registration will be cancelled.

CANCELLATION: ½ of rental fee is Non-Refundable
BUILDING SECURITY: Upon completion of event and inspection credit card payers will be issued $100.00 refund back to your credit card from your rental fee within 30 days after your event date

Freedom Firebirds Travel Softball 2018-19

Welcome to the Freedom Firebirds registration page.

Congratulations on making a Firebird team this season.

As you register you will be required to enter a participation code. You can contact your team manager for this code if you have not already received it.

You will also be asked to select a team -- select the team your child will be playing for this season.

If you are a volunteer you need to also register as a volunteer.

You must have tried out for a Freedom Firebird Team and have been selected to play on that team in order to register.

The “Awesome Kids Program” offers kids from K-6th grade group classes in music, cooking, foreign languages, entrepreneurship, the arts, and academics in a team environment!

Arnis Tae Kwon-Do - 2018-2019

Arnis Tae Kwon-Do

Develop confidence, self defense, discipline, courtesy and self-control through the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon-Do. Classes are coed, 10 weeks long, and offered year-round. Classes are held at the Linton Springs Elem. Community Room, 375 Ronsdale Road, Eldersburg for the following age groups.
5-7 year old, 8-12 year old and 13 year old - Adult

Program geared for beginners to black belt.

Freedom Area Ringers 2018/19 Community Handbells

The Freedom Area Ringers, English Handbell choirs consist of two groups for students grade 4 through adults. Rehearsals are held weekly at Faith Lutheran Church, 1700 St. Andrews Way (next to CCPL).
If you've never tried ringing handbells, come and give it a try. It is great, team building, addictive, musical fun!

Class Schedule:
Thursday evenings starting September 6, 2018 ending on May 23, 2019 with concerts in December and May.
Beginners: Level 1 & 2 No bell or music experience necessary. Grade 4 - Adult, Thurs. 6-7 PM.
Learn the basic mechanics of ringing, reading music notation, and teamwork moving toward performance of several pieces of music.

Intermediate: Level 2+ & 3 Two years of bell experience or strong music background. Grade 4-Adult, Thurs. 7:15 - 8:15 PM
Build on basic knowledge of bell music / note reading to practice and perform music with expression and musicality.

Late Registration Begins September 1st - When registering after July 31st you will be placed on waiting list. You will be notified as available placement is made or comes available.
Cost for late registration is $80.00. Please pay by credit card. Payments for registrations beginning July 1st must be received before player(s) are placed on a team.

Step 2) Add your children (when adding grade use current grade in school) and/or spouse to the account

Step 3) Register your participants - scroll to find the program you want to register for
