Arnis Tae Kwon-Do - Summer Session 2018

Arnis Tae Kwon-Do

Develop confidence, self defense, discipline, courtesy and self-control through the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon-Do. Classes are coed, 10 weeks long, and offered year-round. Classes are held at the Linton Springs Elem. Community Room, 375 Ronsdale Road, Eldersburg for the following age groups.

• 5-7 year old
• 8-12 year old
• 13 year old - Adult

Program geared for beginners to black belt.

We will be registering differently this season. Team Manager will register through the system in the manager division - All managers must register as a Manager and a player. Players will register in the player division

Cost is $420.00 per team - fee includes all league and umpire fees. Uniforms are not included - if you wish to order uniforms you can contact Bob at bob@uniformateam.com or find a vendor of your choice.

JDCRO Orchestra Practice 2017-18

JoeyDCares Rock Orchestra, a non-profit community music group of students and adult volunteers, performs Rock, Pop, Motown, Jazz & Classical to support charitable events throughout the year. Students improve their music skills while earning service hours serving their community through music, building leadership skills, and having fun jamming with other musicians.

Who: Student musicians in grades 6-12. Also, members of the community of any age who want to join by helping or playing an instrument are welcome!

Cost: $99 per 4 month session- See Sessions below - you must register for each session separately.

Introduction to Robotics with LEGOs (ages 8-12)
Our most popular session, now updated. This session was formerly called “LEGO Fun”, and will still include an introduction to Lego EV3 programming for Mindstorms and SuGo games, a friendly and fun competition. Some additional robotics activities and engineering challenges are also part of the fun. On the final day, teams showcase their robots and skills. No experience is needed, but those familiar with the EV3 or returning students can pursue advanced topics. Students interested in fall LEGO robotics competitions will learn about the program, and receive invitations to team formation meetings.

Girls in Engineering (ages 8-12)

This camp will include engineering challenges like egg drop and bridge building, guest speakers, a field trip and, of course, Lego robots and SuGo. GIRLS ONLY! June 18-22, 1 – 4 pm

Junior Robotics (ages 6-8)

This session is intended for the youngest robotics enthusiasts, and eager builders. The session will include building simple machines using LEGOs and other materials, learning the basics of coding, and building autonomous machines using LEGO WeDO. No experience is needed. Minimum age is 6 by January 1, and completion of 1st grade is recommended.

NEW: Introduction to Scratch Programming (ages 8-12)

Join the club, and start coding! This introductory session will provide a basis and get kids started on a simple and easy-to-learn platform that can lead to much more. Based on demand, follow on sessions may be planned for the fall. July 9-13, 1 pm – 4 pm

PIE3 Robotics Teams 2017/18 - FRC

Welcome to the PIE3 Robotics Team Registration Site.

You must have a participation code to signup, indicating that you have been accepted onto a team. To obtain a participation code email signup.pie3@gmail.com

FIRST Robotics Competition is open to students who are 14-18 years old by January, and junior members who are 13 in January. PIE3 currently sponsors the Robo-Lions, FRC Team 2199. The team meets in the Sykesville area at least weekly. The team builds a competitive robot each winter, running summer sessions in robotics and engineering in the summer, training, competing and sharing their STEM experiences throughout the community all year.
Team members learn about and participate in the team in many ways, and may join through the year. Volunteer mentors are also welcome in any of the following areas:
-Electronics and electrical engineering
-Mechanical systems and system integration
-Public relations, including marketing, graphic design and social media
-Business planning and fundraising
-Computer Aided Design (CAD)
-Programming in Java
-Shop safety, quality engineering and product reliability

There is an initiation fee of $50 for students. This includes an invitation to visit with the current team or attend a workshop to learn about the program. Full membership will require additional fundraising and/or contributions to cover team registrations, materials, and travel.

Freedom Rec Soccer Fall 2018

Registration in some divisions will remain open - all registrations will be wait listed except BHS & Girls Grades 8-12 and released on a player by player basis. Volunteers registration is open. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER YOUR CHILD FOR THE GRADE THEY WILL BE IN FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR!!
Fees are: $95.00/player
$10.00 sibling discount for each additional child in the family registered in our program.
Early Bird Discount –$5.00 off - must be paid by Credit Card – any registrations not paid by April 30 will have $5.00 fee added to registration cost. Registrations from May 1 – May 31 will be as above – Registrations after June 1st will include a $15.00 late fee, registrations from starting July1st will include a $25.00 (unless you have tried out for an FSC travel team or high school team and did not make the team). Please email freedomoptsoccer@gmail.com if this occurs.

Registration is not considered complete and your child will not be placed on a team until payment is received.

If you are volunteering in our program you must register as a volunteer - Make sure you register - after you register your child. If you are a volunteer Coach or Assistant Coach you must also complete the Carroll County Background check–www.fdosoccer.com and follow the instructions on the front page.

You should receive a call or email from your child's coach during the last week of July, except for the Clinic Age 3 & Clinic Age 4 teams (These divisions do not practice in August)

Refund Policy: 100% thru July 15 less $20.00 administrative fee, No refunds after July 15

Team sizes and age grouping will depend on the number of participants. Any sessions cancelled by circumstances beyond our control are non-refundable.


Freedom Soccer Referees 2018

Welcome to Freedom Rec Soccer Referee Soccer Registration

For Youth Referees you must play soccer for Freedom Optimist Soccer, FSC, or Liberty, Century or South Carroll High School.

Adult Referees must have previously refereed for FO Soccer Program.

If you are a first or second year referee you must attend 2 clinics:

Session #1 Sunday August 12th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs.

Session #2 Sunday August 26th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs.
You must attend both sessions.

If you are a third or more year referee then you must attend 1 clinic on Sunday August 19th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs. You must attend a session to referee.

If you are a 3rd year or more and wish to referee at Eldersburg and not Freedom Park then you need to attend the 1st & 2nd year referee clinics.

If for some reason you cannot attend the required sessions you must contact Sue Chaney at fosreferees@gmail.com. If you do not attend required sessions and do not have a waiver from the referee coordinator you will not be allowed to referee.

There is no fee to register. Registration will be open till August 11th for 1st & 2nd year referees and August 18th for 3rd year and beyond referees.

If you are a third year and beyond who would be interested in helping with training or be a lead referee at Eldersburg or Freedom Park please let me know.

ERR Arrows - Youth Cross Country Fall 2018

2018 Season: Tuesday, August 21 -- Thursday, October 25

Practice times: Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:15 – 6:30 PM
Location of practices: Parking lot behind Linton Springs Elementary School in Eldersburg
PROGRAM INFORMATION
Athletes will be separated by age and/or ability at practices. Meets, which are held in Carroll and surrounding counties, will start on Sunday, September 9 and continue on Sundays through the end of October. Meets are not required, but each athlete is encouraged to participate in at least one during the season. The Arrows cross-country program is for beginners and experienced runners. However, it is highly recommended that your young athlete be able to run the following distances without stopping before they join the program (1 lap around a high school track for 6 and under, 2 laps for 7/8, 4 laps for 9 through 12, and 6 laps for 13/14 age group). COST
The cost is $65 per athlete for the 1st family member, $50 for 2nd and additional family members. This registration amount does not include fees for participating in the meets (typically $5 per athlete per meet). The Arrows uniform (the same jersey used for our Track and Field program) is required to participate in meets and must be purchased separately through the following website: www.proforma.com/errarrows . If your athlete is participating in the first meet on September 9, you must purchase the uniform by 8/18 to have it on time.

Hall Rental - Freedom Optimist Building 2018

In order to rent the the Freedom Hall please email optimisthall@gmail.com and you will receive a participation code so that you can register and pay.

Fees are:
Upstairs (Capacity - 60): $50.00/hour plus $175.00

Downstairs (Capacity - 225):
$500.00 - 4 hours

With this registration I agree that I will abide by all rules, regulations and terms set forth below for the Rental of the Freedom Optimist Hall (upstairs & downstairs) for the date and times listed on my registration.
IMPORTANT: You must email (optimisthall@gmail.com) a copy of a Certificate of Insurance for General Liability in the amount of $500,000 naming the Optimist Club of Freedom District as “additionally insured” which can be secured from either a business or homeowner’s insurance provider once registration is complete. If this form is not received within 20 days of registration – this registration will be cancelled.

BUILDING SECURITY: Upon completion of event and inspection credit card payers will be issued $100.00 refund back to your credit card from your rental fee within 30 days after your event date

FSC Travel Soccer Club (U8 - U19) — 2018/2019 Season

Freedom Field Hockey Fall 2018

The Freedom Field Hockey program is about providing girls, 5-14 years of age, an environment where they will gain knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to play girls field hockey.
The sport of field hockey promotes teamwork, encouragement, and overall enjoyment; season runs from Aug. to early Nov.

Grades K-2: $60.00
Practice one evening each week. Games played either Sat. or Sun.
3rd-4th Grade: $110.00
Practice two evenings each week, games on Sun.*
