For ages 12 - adult. This workshop is designed for beginners with a desire to learn how to paint in acrylics and covers some of the key things you need to know like suggested paints and mediums, canvases, brushes, easels and how to care for your materials. Small class project will be completed. All materials are provided.

Portfolio Elements - Winter 2019

Portfolio Elements - Starts January 28th
For ages 11 and up. Traditional drawing is emphasized as a basis for all work, even comic book, fantasy or anime. It requires a lot of rendering from direct observation; a more difficult task and therefore a big requirement of most high school and college level portfolios. Self-portraits, figure drawings, object studies and still life drawings are commonly requested. Projects covered will include CCPS high school portfolio requirements for those on the ARTS track upon entering High School. For ages 6 – 10. Students will create fun illustrations using realistic creatures mixed with fantasy. The class will be working from photo references and their own imagination. Students will also be taught basic drawing techniques to improve their skills. We will be using pencil, colored pencil, crayons, marker and watercolor pencil. Creating Storybook Characters - Spring 2019

Creating Storybook Characters
For ages 6 – 10. Each student will create their own storybook characters using their imagination. Creativity is encouraged to determine what the character will be doing, and then they will learn how to put that character into a setting to help tell a story. Competitive Multiple Media - Spring 2019 - ages 10-17

For ages 10 – 17. Students will learn to illustrate in a variety of mediums. Creative projects will be interspersed with technique study to develop many areas of expression. All students will be
competing in 2 additional 2-hour sessions (challenges) to demonstrate the skills they’ve learned in the program. Students will compete in the Regional Competition on Saturday, May 18, 10am – 2pm, location TBD. All materials are included.

Lots of fun for everyone –Eldersburg Elementary School – Mid March - early May Play with your friends!! (older age groups short sided fields). Team sizes and age grouping will depend on the number of participants. Requests will be honored but will be done on a first come first serve basis.
Season will run on Sunday mornings March 17 – May 12. 8 weeks - 1 week of practices – 7 weeks of games. (any make up games will be on week nights)

Freedom Soccer Academy 2019

FSC will offer its soccer academy for players ages 4-7 starting March 31 – May 12, Sundays, 6-7PM, for 6 weeks. No session Easter weekend. We have one rain date May 19. Field location is Liberty High School.

The academy’s mission is to teach the fundamentals of soccer to help lay foundation for success in soccer in a fun-filled, low pressure environment.
All instructors are either current coaches at the high school, club or collegiate level.

Registration fee is $80 for
6 sessions which includes an academy shirt. $10 discount for each additional family member.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Athletes separated by age and specialty (sprints; distance; long jump/high jump). Please note: We will only provide throwing (turbo javelin/shot/discus) and hurdle workouts if dedicated parents step forward to coach. All meets take place on Sundays, starting 4/7, and are optional.

Our objective: Have fun while developing skills and appreciation for the sport of Track and Field. Parent volunteers are needed – let us know if interested!

FLL Junior Robotics (Grades K-3, sponsored by PIE3)2018/19

You must have a participation code to signup,to register for this program

FIRST LEGO League Junior is open to students who are 6-9 years old by January. Teams of up to six children explore a scientific concept, then build a model and code it to make it move using LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0. They also develop a Show Me Poster to illustrate their journey of discovery.

Teams are formed in the community as coaches (2 or more per team) volunteer and determine meeting times and location BEFORE signing up members.

If you do not yet have a team assignment, email signup.pie3@gmail.com to inquire about possible team openings or about coaching a new team. Coach training is available; no experience is required.

SIGNUP FOR A TEAM ONLY IF YOU ARE COACHING OR HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED BY YOUR COACH. Assignment to a team is NOT guaranteed otherwise, and refunds will generally not be given. Your coach will provide a code needed to complete signup.

Team formation for this season ends April 1, 2019. Registration will remain open for confirmed team members. Note that the season for FLL Junior is open all year, and teams may start at any point.

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team in Carroll County is FRC Team 2199 the Robo-Lions. Now in their 13th year, the team is open to any high school student with an interest in robotics, programming, marketing, public relations, social media, creative problem-solving, engineering, design and many other areas. This team is active year-round, with the main season January-April. Training and team building begins in the fall. No experience is necessary.

SIGNUP FOR THIS TEAM IS RECOMMENDED AFTER VISITING WITH THE TEAM AT LEAST ONCE. You will then be provided with a code needed to complete signup. Meeting location is 2025 Suffolk Road, Suite 1A, Finksburg, MD. Contact the team at 2199robolions@gmail.com for the date and time of the next meeting.

JDCRO Orchestra Practice 2018-19

JoeyDCares Rock Orchestra, a non-profit community music group of students and adult volunteers, performs Rock, Pop, Motown, Jazz & Classical to support charitable events throughout the year. Students improve their music skills while earning service hours serving their community through music, building leadership skills, and having fun jamming with other musicians.

Who: Student musicians in grades 6-12. Also, members of the community of any age who want to join by helping or playing an instrument are welcome!

Cost: $99 per 4 month session- See Sessions below - you must register for each session separately.

Freedom Area Basketball - 2018/19

The mission of the Freedom Area Basketball League (FABL) is to provide instruction and recreation in the game of basketball. In addition to skills development, sportsmanship and the enjoyment of participation will be emphasized. We offer an Intramural program, as well as select Travel Teams for more competitive play. We welcome all grades K-12.

Travel Players:
All travel teams are not yet determined, and tryouts will be held in September. All Travel Players must register through the REC program.
Once Travel Teams are selected, those players will be moved to their grade associated travel team.

Online registration will be open from August 1 through September 30, 2018.

Step 3) Register your participants - scroll to find the program you want to register for
