Welcome to Freedom Rec Soccer Referee Soccer Registration

For Youth Referees you must play soccer for Freedom Optimist Soccer, FSC, or Liberty, Century or South Carroll High School.
Adult Referees must have previously refereed for FO Soccer Program.
When you register click on the player tab.

If you are a 1st or 2nd year referee you must attend 2 indoor clinics and 1 outdoor clinic:
Session #1 Sunday August 11th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs.
Session #2 Sunday August 25th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs.
Outdoor Session – Date and time TBD
You must attend all sessions - exact times may vary.
If you are a 3rd or more year referee then you must attend 1 clinic on Sunday August 18th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs. You must attend a session to referee.
If you are a 3rd year or more and wish to referee at Eldersburg and not Freedom Park, then you need to attend the 1st & 2nd year referee clinics.

If for some reason you cannot attend the required sessions you must contact Jay at fosreferees@gmail.com. If you do not attend required sessions and do not have a waiver from the referee coordinator you will not be allowed to referee.

There is no fee to register. Registration will be open till August 10th for 1st & 2nd year referees and August 17th for 3rd year and beyond referees.

If you are a third year and beyond who would be interested in helping with training or be a lead referee at Eldersburg or Freedom Park.

If you are over 18 and are volunteering to help you will need to complete the Carroll County Background check.

Freedom Field Hockey Fall 2019

The Freedom Field Hockey program provides girls and boys, 4-14 years of age, an environment where they will gain knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to play field hockey.
The sport of field hockey promotes teamwork, encouragement, and overall enjoyment. Our season runs from Aug. to early Nov.

Don't need a new Jersey this season - Enter Promo Code FHJD15 and receive a $15.00 discount on registration.

Clinic Play Grades Pre-K-2: $70.00
Practice one evening each week (pre-season has optional 2nd practice in Aug). Play days are held on Saturdays or Sundays throughout the season and hosted by other programs starting in September and ending the first weekend of Nov. Freedom hosts one home Play Day, all other Play Days will be travel (other programs are located in Carroll, Howard, Baltimore, Harford and Frederick counties). Play Days typically run from 9AM-12pm with a minimum of three 20-min games.

*Grades 3-8 will be entering 3 tournaments that are typically held on Saturday (two in September and one in October). Tentative dates for tournaments are as follows: Sept 1st, Sept 21st, and Oct 5th....Oct 26,27 for optional end of season tournament.

We are bringing Fall Ball back this year. In order to keep the girl’s skills fresh, we are going to make this an instructional league. We will have practices on Tuesday nights and scrimmages on Sunday afternoons.


There will be two divisions: Grades 3-5 & Grades 6-8


The seasons will run from 9/3 through 11/3.


Registration is $30 per child. T-Shirts will be provided with registration.

If you are volunteering you MUST register online.

All umpires will be volunteers for the fall season.

Refund Policy:
There is a $10.00 non-refundable administrative fee on all registrations.

$10.00 sibling discount for each additional child in the family registered in our program.
Early Bird Discount –$5.00 off - must be paid by Credit Card – any registrations not paid by April 30 will have $5.00 fee added to registration cost. Registrations from May 1 – May 31 will be as above – Registrations after June 1st will include a $15.00 late fee, registrations from starting July 1st will include a $25.00 (unless you have tried out for an FSC travel team or high school team and did not make the team). Registration is not considered complete and your child will not be placed on a team until payment is received.

If you are volunteering in our program you must register as a volunteer - Make sure you register - after you register your child. ERR Arrows Competition Training Program(CTP)- Fall 2019

Fall 2019 Cross Country CTPhow much fun they’ve had doing it.
WHAT:Focused training for youth cross country athletes interested in high level running and competition.
WHO:Athletes, aged 9 to 15, who are serious about competing and want to improve their skills through more customized and intense training. Cross Country must be a primary fall sport and participants must attend four (4) or more regular season meets. Athletes must have participated in at least one (1) track and field or XC season before joining the CTP program. An override may be granted by contacting Coach Lavelle at the email below.

ATHLETE EXPECTATIONS:
Athletes do NOT need to be fast runners, but they do need to attend practice with a serious focus on personal improvement. They must be committed to pushing themselves, willing to listen, and always give their best. Due to the intense training schedule, athletes must be able to focus on the coaches throughout the entire practice-total concentration is required.It is important for all CTP Arrows to be team players. Cross Country is an ALL-WEATHER sport.
HAVE FUN! Show up for practice with a great attitude, enjoy the comradery of teammates, work hard together, and love every minute you’re giving your best effort. At the end of the season,we want our Arrows to look back on their time and realize how far they have come and how much fun they’ve how much fun they’ve had doing it.

PROGRAM INFORMATION
Athletes will be separated by age and/or ability at practices. Meets, which are held in Carroll and surrounding counties, will start on Sunday, September 15 and continue on Sundays through the end of October. Meets are not required, but each athlete is encouraged to participate in at least one during the season. The Arrows cross-country program is for beginners and experienced runners. However, it is highly recommended that your young athlete be able to run the following distances without stopping before they join the program (1 lap around a high school track for 6 and under, 2 laps for 7/8, 4 laps for 9 through 12, and 6 laps for 13/14 age group). COST
The cost is $75 per athlete for the 1st family member, $60 for 2nd and additional family members. This registration amount does not include fees for participating in the meets (typically $5 per athlete per meet). The Arrows uniform (the same jersey used for our Track and Field program) is required to participate in meets and must be purchased separately through the following website: www.proforma.com/errarrows . If your athlete is participating in the first meet on September 15, you must purchase the uniform by 8/25 to have it on time. Freedom Fire Stars Dance Twirl Teams place 2nd at the National Baton Twirling Association national Championship. Placing 2nd in the Junior Beginner Twirling Team division.
All the girls placed in the top ten of their individual events.
Kasey Roger's winning 1st place in her national Intermediate open solo.

Come and be apart of a champion baton twirling team! Freedom Fire Stars Dance Twirl Teams are under the direction of Judi Marlatt, a registered National Baton Twirling Association Coach and Judge. Currently accepting new twirling members ages 4 and up. Classes held at Piney Ride Elementary School gym.

Realistic Oil Painting For adults and ages 15 and up

For adults and ages 15 and up. Beginner to Advanced. All levels welcome! Beginners, learn the basics of oil painting (how to start a painting, techniques, composition, measuring, values, and working from photos.) Intermediate painters, review color mixing, value studies, techniques, composition and choosing subject matter. Advanced painters, receive individualized instruction based on ability. Creating Lifelike Portraits Fall 2019

Creating Lifelike Portraits
For ages 14 and up. Come and learn realistic drawing techniques to create lifelike portraits of people or animals. Some techniques include measuring, facial proportions, composition, and different shading techniques. Students may work in charcoal, graphite or colored pencil. Students will have a completed portrait of their choice. In-class demonstrations and individualized instruction based on students needs. Supplies not included. Supply list available. Heavy archival quality drawing paper available for $2 at class. Basic knowledge of drawing is helpful.

Full Moon Farm - Into to Horsemanship Fall 2019

Join Full Moon Farm, 4326 Louisville Rd., for a three-week course for youth age 6-13 who are interested in exploring the world of horses.
Students learn about safety around horses, how to work with them, daily care, grooming, equine nutrition, gaits, breeds, colors, and markings, and have an opportunity to try a few basic techniques of riding.
Classes will be offered Sat., Sept. 21, 28 and Oct. 5, from 3-5:00PM.
Cost: $140 for 3 weeks of classes.

Freedom Area Basketball - 2019/2020


The mission of the Freedom Area Basketball League (FABL) is to provide instruction and recreation in the game of basketball. In addition to skills development, sportsmanship and the enjoyment of participation will be emphasized. We offer an Intramural program, as well as select Travel Teams for more competitive play. We welcome all grades K-12.

Travel Players:
All travel teams are not yet determined, and tryouts will be held in September. For Boys Travel please register on our Boys Travel Link All other Travel Players must register through the REC program.
Once Travel Teams are selected, those players will be moved to their grade associated travel team.

JDCRO Orchestra Practice 2018-19

JoeyDCares Rock Orchestra, a non-profit community music group of students and adult volunteers, performs Rock, Pop, Motown, Jazz & Classical to support charitable events throughout the year. Students improve their music skills while earning service hours serving their community through music, building leadership skills, and having fun jamming with other musicians.

Who: Student musicians in grades 6-12. Also, members of the community of any age who want to join by helping or playing an instrument are welcome!

Cost: $99 per 4 month session- See Sessions below - you must register for each session separately.

Team Manager will register through the system in the manager division - All managers must register as a Player in the Managers Division and a player and manager in the Players Division. Players will register in the player division as a player.

FTC Robotics (Grades 7-12, sponsored by PIE3)2019/20

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is open to students who are 11-18 years old by January 1, 2020. FTC teams of up to 15 students explore the possibilities of STEM through designing, building, programming, and operating robots to play a competition challenge in an alliance format. They practice engineering principles while realizing the value of teamwork, innovation, and sharing ideas, and participants are eligible to apply for $80M+ in college scholarships

Teams are formed in the community as coaches (2 or more per team) volunteer and determine meeting times and location BEFORE signing up members. FTC Team 4991 will compete in 2020, and a new team may form depending on interest.

FRC Robotics (High School, sponsored by PIE3)2019/20

You must have a Participation Code to Register

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team in Carroll County is FRC Team 2199 the Robo-Lions. Now in their 14th year, the team is open to any high school student with an interest in robotics, programming, marketing, public relations, social media, creative problem-solving, engineering, design and many other areas. This team is active year-round, with the main season January-April. Training and team building begins in the fall. No experience is necessary.

SIGNUP FOR THIS TEAM IS RECOMMENDED AFTER VISITING WITH THE TEAM AT LEAST ONCE. You will then be provided with a code needed to complete signup. Meeting location is 2025 Suffolk Road, Suite 1A, Finksburg, MD. Contact the team at 2199robolions@gmail.com for the date and time of the next meeting.

FLL Junior Robotics (Grades K-3, sponsored by... 2019/20

You must have a participation code to signup,to register for this program

FIRST LEGO League Junior is open to students who are 6-9 years old by January. Teams of up to six children explore a scientific concept, then build a model and code it to make it move using LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0. They also develop a Show Me Poster to illustrate their journey of discovery.

Teams are formed in the community as coaches (2 or more per team) volunteer and determine meeting times and location BEFORE signing up members.

If you do not yet have a team assignment, email signup.pie3@gmail.com to inquire about possible team openings or about coaching a new team. Coach training is available; no experience is required.

SIGNUP FOR A TEAM ONLY IF YOU ARE COACHING OR HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED BY YOUR COACH. Assignment to a team is NOT guaranteed otherwise, and refunds will generally not be given. Your coach will provide a code needed to complete signup.

Team formation for this season ends April 1, 2020. Registration will remain open for confirmed team members. Note that the season for FLL Junior is open all year, and teams may start at any point.

Hall Rental - Freedom Optimist Building 2019

In order to rent the the Freedom Hall please email optimisthall@gmail.com and you will receive a participation code so that you can register and pay.

Fees are:
Upstairs (Capacity - 60): $50.00/hour plus $175.00

Downstairs (Capacity - 225):
$500.00 - 4 hours
$550.00 - 5 hours
$600.00 - 6 hours
$650.00 - 7 hours
$700.00 - 8 hours



With this registration I agree that I will abide by all rules, regulations and terms set forth below for the Rental of the Freedom Optimist Hall (upstairs & downstairs) for the date and times listed on my registration.
IMPORTANT: You must email (optimisthall@gmail.com) a copy of a Certificate of Insurance for General Liability in the amount of $500,000 naming the Optimist Club of Freedom District as “additionally insured” which can be secured from either a business or homeowner’s insurance provider once registration is complete. If this form is not received within 20 days of registration – this registration will be cancelled.

CANCELLATION: ½ of rental fee is Non-Refundable
BUILDING SECURITY: Upon completion of event and inspection credit card payers will be issued $100.00 refund back to your credit card from your rental fee within 30 days after your event date

Freedom Area Ringers 2019/20 Community Handbe...

The Freedom Area Ringers English Handbell choirs consist of two groups for students grade 4 through adults. Rehearsals are held weekly at Faith Lutheran Church, 1700 St. Andrews Way (next to CCPL). Fees include a performance shirt and all other materials needed for the class.

Sessions this year will be as follows:
Full year class: September 5, 2019 - May 28, 2019 (34 classes) Registration fee: $75.00
Fall Session: September 5, 2019 - December 19, 2019 Registration fee: $45.00
(14 classes - no rehearsal 10/31 or 11/28)
Winter/Spring Session: January 9, 2020 - May 28, 2020 Registration fee: $60.00
(20 classes - no rehearsal 4/9/2020)

Freedom Campanelle (Level 1 & 2 music) No bell or music experience necessary. Grade 4 - Adult, Thurs. 6-7 PM.

Learn the basic mechanics of ringing, reading music notation, and teamwork moving toward performance of several pieces of music.

Freedom Forté (Level 2+ and 3) Two years of bell experience or strong music background. Grade 4-Adult, Thurs. 7:15-8:15PM

Build on basic knowledge of bell music / note reading to practice and perform music with expression and musicality.

Freedom Firebirds Travel Softball 2019-20

Welcome to the Freedom Firebirds registration page.

Congratulations on making a Firebird team this season.

As you register you will be required to enter a participation code. You can contact your team manager for this code if you have not already received it.

You will also be asked to select a team -- select the team your child will be playing for this season.

If you are a volunteer you need to also register as a volunteer.

You must have tried out for a Freedom Firebird Team and have been selected to play on that team in order to register.

Each session will have:

*Skills Day (you will get an email with your assigned time the week before Skills Day)

*Team practices-(Time slots will be emailed after skills day)

*Multiple weeks of league play - time frame listed on divisions

Please be advised that if you are paying for registration by check prior to first day of the session- your registration will be deleted if payment has not been received.

Refund Policy: Twenty dollars of the tuition in non refundable. Refunds on remaining balances may be requested in writing no later then 14 days prior to the beginning of each session.






FSC Travel Soccer 2019/2020

FSC Travel Soccer Club (U8 - U19) — 2019/2020 Season

• You must have tried out for FSC and have been selected to play on a FSC team to register here.
• If selected for a FSC team, Players must register and pay within 3 days from time offer is made to join a team.
• Players must have a participation code to register. To obtain a code please contact your coach.
• Player registration fee is $165 (non-refundable). Credit card or checks accepted. ($25 charge for returned checks).
• Coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, treasurers, and board members MUST also register here as a volunteer and must have a participation code to register.

Arnis Tae Kwon-Do

Develop confidence, self defense, discipline, courtesy and self-control through the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon-Do. Classes are coed, 10 weeks long, and offered year-round. Classes are held at the Linton Springs Elem. Community Room, 375 Ronsdale Road, Eldersburg for the following age groups.
5-7 year old, 8-12 year old and 13 year old - Adult

Program geared for beginners to black belt.

2019 Robot Ruckus

Robot Ruckus
Are you curious about what a robot is? Or just like to try new things? We have the summer fun experience for you, whether you already build and program robots like LEGO Mindstorms or have never even seen one! High school robotics team members will help you build rockets and rovers, sharing their adventure in robotics, and explore engineering, science, and technology ideas.

Sessions run from 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm for one week. The program is appropriate for ages 8-12. If you have come to one of our LEGO Fun or other sessions, come take your robotics skills one step further. If not, that's ok - we love sharing with robot rookies! Robots, software, laptops and lots of LEGO's included, plus daily snack and a t-shirt.

Cost: $200/session; discount of $10/session for multiple sessions
Location: Freedom Optimist Hall
Dates (Mon-Friday, one session 9am-12pm for ages 7-10 and a second session from 1pm-4 pm for ages 9-12)
